Air Fryer Mozzarella Sticks

Ingredients:

  • 8 mozzarella sticks
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • Olive oil cooking spray
  • Marinara sauce for serving

Instructions:

  1. In a shallow dish, mix together the panko breadcrumbs, Italian seasoning, and salt.
  2. Dip each mozzarella stick into the beaten egg, making sure it’s well coated.
  3. Roll the egg-coated mozzarella stick in the panko mixture, making sure it’s evenly coated.
  4. Place the coated mozzarella sticks on a parchment-lined plate or tray and freeze for 1 hour.
  5. After 1 hour, repeat the coating process by dipping each stick into the beaten egg and then into the panko mixture once more.
  6. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  7. Lightly spray the mozzarella sticks with olive oil cooking spray.
  8. Place the mozzarella sticks in the air fryer basket in a single layer, without overlapping.
  9. Air fry for 8 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  10. Serve hot with marinara sauce for dipping.
