Crispy Chicken Cutlets

This air fryer chicken cutlet recipe is a quick and easy way to enjoy a delicious and crispy chicken dinner. By using a combination of panko and Italian breadcrumbs, the crust is extra crunchy and flavorful. The air fryer makes the chicken cutlets perfectly crispy and juicy, without the added oil of traditional deep-frying. Here’s how to make it:

Ingredients:

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon of water
  • 1 cup of panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 cup of Italian breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh basil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F.
  2. Pound the chicken breasts until they are an even thickness.
  3. In a shallow dish, beat the egg and water together.
  4. In a separate shallow dish, mix together the panko breadcrumbs and Italian breadcrumbs, and season with salt and pepper.
  5. Dip each chicken cutlet into the egg mixture, then coat in the breadcrumb mixture, pressing the breadcrumbs firmly onto the chicken.
  6. Place the chicken cutlets in a single layer in the air fryer basket.
  7. Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway thru, until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through. 
  8. Serve hot with your favorite side dishes. Optional: add fresh basil on top.
